At this present time our Church is being shaken by revelations of betrayal of trust by Church leadership. The disclosures of criminal behavior by former Cardinal Theodore McCarrick and those named in the Pennsylvania Grand Jury Report have been devastating.
Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
I wish to share some news of joyful anticipation for the Diocese. In my four years as Bishop we have made exciting progress in clarifying and aligning our mission.
Our new Strategic Plan is the light to illuminate the path of the future through the deployment of three effective tools: Forming Intentional Disciples, The Four Levels of Happiness, and The Amazing Parish. This plan is now complete with an official compass, the Stella Maris, a seal of commitment by me, your shepherd, to service of the mission.

Every time we have a birthday in my house, we have cinnamon rolls for breakfast. We don’t really ever have them any other time of the year, but with me, my wife, and our six daughters in the house, that’s eight birthdays, so that’s probably enough times to have cinnamon rolls anyway.

Jamie Beal accepted the position of Administrative Assistant to our Chancellor, Rev. Matthew Wertin, effective June 4, 2018. Jamie has over five years of experience as a Legal Assistant. She earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in English Textual Studies and Political Science from the University of Denver, in Denver, CO.
On December 10, 1944, in addition to being entrusted to the celestial care of the Sacred Heart of Jesus and our Blessed Lady of Victory, the holy virgin St. Therese of the Child Jesus was confirmed, constituted, and declared to be the principal patroness of the Diocese of Pueblo.
